Christmas Time Fun

I have been begging Kyle for the last 4 years to go and cut down our own Christmas Tree, and this year it finally happened. Thanks to Teague, he was a good excuse to help me melt daddy's heart so he would take us. We had so much fun, I hope that we can continue the tradition every year and not every 4 years!!! It was quite the drive from Pocatello, and it was getting close to dark so we really had to hurry. And not to mention that it was freezing! Teague never, I mean never travels well on any car ride. So it was exhausting keeping him entertained the whole time. We looked for all sorts of animals, sang Christmas songs, and of course ate doughnuts!!! Or as Teague calls them " Dondoughs"??? We picked a tree right along side of the road.

He was so glad to be out of the truck, and loved playing in the snow.

He wouldn't leave his gloves on, he liked to pick up the snow and say BRRRR. Look at how happy he was!!!! That's what makes it all worth it.

I thought that the saw might scare Teague because it was so loud. He didn't care at all. In fact look at his eyes in this next picture.

He loved cutting down the Christmas Tree.

We were so cold. But it sure was a blast. I told Kyle on the way home, wow you cant beat a five dollar Christmas Tree. He said ya but what about the gas to get here (it was about 2 hours one way) and the treats we got at the gas station?? I said that doesn't count!! haha

It was a little rough decorating the tree with Teague, but he was so into it and had so much fun. He wanted to help with the lights, but pretty much just tangled them all up for me. I suppose he was trying to making it easier for me. I just let him have at it with the bulbs. I figured that it didn't matter what it really looked like. The memories and letting a little boy get so excited about helping mommy was a lot more important. I believe the tree has been redecorated by Teague everyday since. As soon as he wakes up we turn on the Christmas Tree lights and move the star down closer to the stable counting down the days. Everything Christmas Teague calls "ho..ho..".

These are the stockings that I made for us this year. It was a lot of work, and very time consuming but I am so proud of the way they turned out!!

I hand stitched around our names, and all of the snowflakes.

I also made this wall hanging and can't believe that I even finished it. This was my first quilting project. My mom latter told me that I chose a hard block to do for my first time. It's definitely not perfect, but I am told if you can't see it from a galloping horse it doesn't matter. I had a lot of fun making these this year.

A few weeks ago Kyle and I went down to Salt Lake City to attend the Tabernacle Choirs Christmas Concert. Our tickets were on Sunday so we were able to see the Spoken Word and the Concert. It was such a wonderful program and something so special that we were able to see. Natalie Cole was one of the special guests performing, she was AMAZING. The spirit was so strong and it was neat to be able to see President Monson. At the end of the concert he presented the Special Guests with a gift and said he was going to use the seven most important words in the English language. He told them, " We are proud of you." and " Thank you." How simple but that was all that needed to be said. What a great man we have on the earth to lead and guide us. Kyle and I were able to get away by ourselves. It is always nice to be able to talk and just devote our attention to each other once in a while. The weather was horrible on the way down Saturday, and even worse coming home Sunday. It took us 4 1/2 hours to get from Salt Lake to Burley. The roads were so slick, but I am glad that we made it home safely. Even if it meant drive 25-30 mph.

My eternal companion and I in front of the Temple we were sealed for time and all eternity in. I just love him more and more each day. He is truly my best friend. I am so thankful we are an eternal family!

My parents in front of the Salt Lake Temple they were also married in. They went down too, in fact it was my mom who got the tickets. They were smart and left before we did, so they made it home before dark and with a lot better roads.

Fall Activities... (a few months late)

This is awful but here are the activities we enjoyed this fall. So embarrassing, but I guess better late than never. I wanted to post all the Christmas fun, but have been totally putting off posting fall. So lets rewind back to ohhh say about October..... :(

He enjoyed raking the leaves with mom!!

He loved throwing all the leaves in the air!! We played outside for hours and hours.

It's all fun and games till someone gets hurt.

I just thought it would be cute to video him playing in the leaves. But he is way too quick for me. He found a stick and before I could stand up he had whacked me upside the head with it!!

It was pretty cold, but we loved the pumpkin patch. He just wanted to pick them all up. Notice the bull in the picture. He wouldn't put it down for the life of him. He can usually be seen with a cow or bull in his hands at pretty much any time of day.(Including bedtime and nap time)

We had so much fun with Aunt Jerica and baby Saige.


Making sugar cookies was more fun than Teague ever could have imagined!! He is all boy so of course we had to use the John Deere tractor to scoop up all the flour. He was covered in flour but had so much fun while it lasted.

But never could have known how good they would taste!! Auntie Jerica gave him a lot more than his mother liked!! And before dinner! But that's probably why she is the favorite!

Teague was a Hunter for Halloween. He looked so cute. He loved that he got to pack around his "Boom". It was as tall as he was. He loved all the candy that he got. He would share it with daddy but if mom even looked at his bag, she got yelled at. "NO MAMA"!!!! All I wanted was a Tootsie Roll sucker, is that too much to ask for?

I love this cute little guy!! He makes me so happy!


I love this guy too!! So glad that I get to enjoy my life with him.

That was our fall in rewind. We really enjoyed this fall, and couldn't believe how fast it flew by.

Saying Goodbye

My Great Grandmother passed away early Friday morning November 27th at the age of 101. She would have been 102 on February 1st. Can you believe it? She was the most amazing woman. I hope that I can be like her one day or if I could at least be half the person she was I would be doing good. She is who I got my red hair from, and we have always had a special bond because of it. I am the 49th descendant from her and no one before or after me has had red hair.


I don't think I have ever heard her complain, she was always positive about everything. She would say I sure wish I could read, but I am so thankful for all the years that I could read anything I wanted to. We have a huge family on my mom's side and she could name all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She would start with each of her six children and name us all one by one down to the great great grandchildren. She knew all about the activities you were in, if you won your ball game and how your recital went. She made you feel like you were so special and her whole world. She loved to spoil us as well, and loved to give us special treats when we would visit her.

She was so strong in the gospel and was our shinning example for so many years. Her Temple Recommend was her most prized possession. She made sure it was always current and even slept with it under her pillow every night. She loved it so much that after the family prayer before they closed the casket they placed her CURRENT recommend in her hands. She leaves such a wonderful example and legacy to follow. She will be greatly missed but lived such a long fulfilled life. I am thankful she was reunited with her husband who has been gone for over 18 years. She was also greeted by so many other family members. She would always joke that it had been so long seeing everyone in heaven that they probably thought she went the other way! ;) What a sweet reunion to see everyone again. I hope that I can strive everyday to be a better person so that I too can be with her , and the rest of my family again!

Teague was only a few weeks old when we went to Boise to visit his Great Great Grandmother.
She loved holding him and kept telling me how sweet he was, and that he was right from our Hevenly Fathers presence.



I feel so blessed to be able to have this 5 generation picture. How rare to get that many generations together.

Guess What It Is

We had our ultrasound on Monday and we are so excited that baby number two is going to be a ......... BOY!!!! I am so thrilled to be able to have two little boys running around here. That was our hopes that it would be a boy. It will be fun having them close together. The ultrasound went well and he looks so good and healthy. He was so active during the ultrasound. The tech had a hard time keeping up with him. He said we better get our running shoes out. OH BOY!! The first thing we got to see was him wave to us. Immediately he raised his little hand to tell us HI!! We got to see him open and close his mouth. And kick his legs around everywhere. He definitely wasn't shy he is 100% boy. The tech stopped right when you could tell what it was and asked if we wanted to know the sex. I'll admit most of the time its hard to tell what they are looking at. But not this time he was definitely a boy. When he asked I immediately looked over at Kyle who already guessed it as well and had a HUGE grin on his face. It is so awesome watching your little baby on the screen moving around. All the emotions I felt were amazing. I am so grateful to be able to have another baby! We feel so blessed and are so thankful! I loved Kyle reaching over to hold my hand while watching our precious baby boy on the screen. I felt so close to him and appreciated that we could share it together. He is the best daddy and I am so thankful he is my husband and Teague's daddy. He is my everything!! I find it so amazing that there is even technology with the ability to see the baby growing inside of me. And better yet that our bodies can make such prefect little babies. We are excited for this little guy to come. And I am going to try not to get antsy for him to get here and just enjoy every minute of it.

He's Getting So BIG!!

This little guy is getting too big, too fast!! Teague is now 19 months. He is so much fun to have around! Here are some things he loves and how smart he is!

He knows all of his body parts and can say them! He knows 1-2-3 and A-B-C. He is always asking where people are. So all day long I tell him daddy is working.. Ellie is at school... the dogs are sleeping...then when he is done with the list, we start all over again. He is getting really good at knowing when to say please, thank you, and excuse me. He is getting pretty good at his colors to. He can say all of them just really likes the color black. Because its like the cows. He basically hears a word once and can repeat it. So we are careful what we say these days.

He has recently decided that he loves to eat! He has always been a pretty good eater, but lately we can't keep him full. He also has a love for Oreo cookies. It started with Grandpa giving them to him when he was pretty little.This picture he had just finished an Oreo with red(Christmas) filling. Note to self just stick with the white filling Oreo's, a lot less mess!! He is so good at feeding himself. He does really well with a spoon and fork unless he is in to much of a hurry and just shovels it in with two hands.

He is always sure to let you know when he does or doesn't like something. There is no guessing with him!! He is a very compassionate and loving little kid. When he gets hurt he will come show me where on his body he was hurt then take me to where it happened. He always says "Right There." Most of the time when I ask him what happened he jabbers,"kljaen adkljfadsoijad slkjadslfja COW." Which I am interpreting that the cow did it!?!? He loves to give hugs and kisses. He will come up to you and rub your face with his hands which I guess is is way of saying Man I love you!!!

He loves balls and playing catch. He had so much fun watching Gavin play soccer, and Brandon play football. And then of course the animals.AHHH he is so obsessed with farm animals. We have a whole collection of cows, horses, bulls, baby calves, pigs...... and that is what he does all day long. He loves setting them up on things. I have started getting random pans or bowls from the kitchen for him to put them on. He always knows exactly which ones are missing. So we are always on a search for a lost animal around the house. Grandpa Smith has 5 bulls out on the farm right now and that is his new love. Grandpa takes him out on the 4-wheeler and they watch the bulls. He can do their noise really well. He even got to watch a bull fight the other day. He was really concerned for the cows though. He didn't want them to get hurt. He also loves feeding apples to the cows. There are a few that come right up and eat apples out of your hand. He even does it himself. He really loves cows and its something so special that him and Grandpa share.

He loves his daddy and absolutely hates when he wakes up in the morning and he's gone. We have to walk all over the house to make sure he isn't hiding somewhere. He loves to do whatever daddy is doing. At night when he wakes up he cries he cries for daddy first then Sue Bear (the dog) but guess who gets up to help him certainly not daddy or Sue Bear!!! This picture daddy was out mowing the lawn, so Teague put his shoes on and was mowing the lawn too.

Teague also has some pretty exciting news to share.... He is going to be a..............

Yep is true!! We are so excited to have another little one join our family around May 3rd!! It has been nice this time not to be so nervous and worried. I have really just been able to sit back and enjoy it. We will find out what we are having on November 30th!! We are thrilled and can't wait to know if its a boy or girl.

Born To.........

The other night Teague and I went with Kyle to go bird hunting. We ended up staying at the truck and playing while dad went out to find the birds. I put him in the back of the truck so that he could still see Kyle until he went down the hill. It didn't even take this kid two seconds to find an old broken utility knife.(The blade was gone!! I'm a good mom) He instantly picked it up, then held it up and was pretending to shoot things. He said, "boom boom" "boom boom".

The first thing I thought was OH NO he is a Peterson!!! I"M DOOMED!! In case you don't understand the Petersons hunt anything and everything and that includes fishing as well!! Kyle Bow Hunts, Rifle Hunts, Fishes, Upland Game Hunts, and now has found that he really enjoys Water Fowl Hunting!! So yes pretty much the whole year he can be found in the mountains. Which he absolutely LOVES.

Next thing I was wondering where in the world he knew how to do that. He has never been around Kyle while shooting his gun, I don't think he had really seen one out of its case. Then I remembered how EVERY evening we watch the hunting channels. Teague also thoroughly enjoys sitting on Daddy's lap looking at all the hunting magazines!!

He was so serious walking around and shooting things. I just loved how cute he looked!!

But now I have remembered the real reason why I will be left at home alone all the time unless I pack up and get my hunting boots on. I do enjoy hunting and being out doors I just don't like to be gone ALL DAY LONG!!! I have my hunting licence, and I think that was the hook line and sinker for Kyle!!! hahahaha

Come on he wasn't even 10 minutes old!!!

Trying to keep up.....

First of all I think that I can honestly say that I HATE this movie. Now hate is a strong word but after watching it all day long every day it gets real old!! I am so tempted to step on it! The other morning before 10:00 we had watched it THREE times!! I find myself humming the songs, and it drives me insane!! Although on a happy note, it is teaching him new things. We have also improved immensely we can now watch the whole movie and not just the animal part. He is saying windmill, hay, has a new love for combines and tractors, and is a pro at all the farm animal sounds. I have tried to replace this one with another baby Einstein but failed miserably he wines the whole time that he wants to watch the "COWS"!!!! He doesn't watch TV, just watches the "COWS" movie.

This next one isn't too bad... although if it only happened once in a while it wouldn't be bad. But I am constantly picking up a million diapers all over the house!! I really should have taken a picture of the living room with all the toys and random things he finds. He loves getting into cupboards, drawers, and anything his level. A clean, clutter free house is hard to come by these days. I just follow him room to room and pick up one mess after another.

OHhh and the chocolate.... It took me quite a while to find him with this one. He was way too quiet and that should have been my first clue. Still not sure how he even got his little paws on it. He loves chocolate so when I found him he looked up at me all chocolaty and kept saying "MMmmm MMmmmm".

Boy is it hard to make messes and be so cute all day. He never just falls asleep unless we are in the car. He crawled up on the chair and crashed!!! It was so peaceful.... but for some strange reason I missed the little monster!!

County Fairs & Rodeos

We all really enjoyed going to the county fairs, and rodeos this summer. This year was really fun because Teague love LOVES farm animals! He was in heaven looking at all the lambs, pigs, chickens, horses, and especially cows.

RUPERT FAIR:

He was pointing at all the chickens. He had never seen one in person so he was excited to see how cool they were. He walked around pointing to all of them and saying, "boc boc boc" over and over. Everyone who walked by got a good laugh.

The Burley Rodeo was a lot of fun. Teague really enjoyed it and sat through the whole thing very good. He enjoyed the animals here as well. Especially a particular horse he didn't want to leave.
GOODING RODEO:

We went with Brad and Ashley to the Gooding Rodeo. It was a fantastic rodeo. It was all the people who are in the world rankings, so to say the least the caliber of Rodeo tops Burley, and Rupert! At this rodeo Teague really didn't like when they did the Calf Tie Down, he would point and then give us a really pitiful look. It was as if he was thinking we don't do that to baby calves.Although he totally loved the bulls, saddle bronc, and bare back. It was complete with hands waving in the air, screaming, and dancing of course.

We have really enjoyed the fairs and rodeos this summer as a family. It is so fun to go and watch Teague experience them for the first time. He is our whole world and we love him so much. He is defiantly a little farm boy.
