Missing a special little girl....

Missing this cute little girl. I haven't seen her for almost 8 days. Way too long!! She is in Oregon with her Mom & Dad having so much fun. Please come home soon baby Saige!! Teaguers and I miss you!!

Country Girl

While we have been at my parents house this summer I have got to help my dad out with just about everything on the farm. I forgot how much I love being on the farm and enjoy the work that it involves. Some may think I'm crazy, but it really doesn't get any better than this. My dad is letting me bottle feed 2 twin calves that neither one of the mothers would take. This is something that I have done since I was teeny tiny (I used to try to feed them my bottle). I have helped my dad put cows in the chute to doctor a hurt leg and helped one calf learn to nurse.

I go with him to tag new baby calves, this isn't as easy or as safe as you might think. Some of the mother cows are really protective and freak out when you get close to their new calf. They get in your face and bellar like crazy while breathing right on your neck and flinging snot everywhere, then run circles around the 4-wheeler until we get done. Its a pretty good adrenalin rush. There were a few times that I had my dad a little panicked, once I knocked his hat off with the Hot Shot(a stick that shocks the cows). He was lifting his head up to get out of the way of the cow right as I leaned forward to shock her. He thought he was going to get zapped pretty good. But I knew what I was doing and didn't push the button. (Thankfully) Then when we were catching a calf that was running frantically around with his momma, he jumped off to catch it and I was flipping around the 4-wheeler to get back to him not knowing he was running after me with the calf. I think he thought he was going to get trampled by the cow. OOPS

My dad knows all the cows by name or tag number even when he can barley see them. I am trying to memorize who is who and their characteristics. It's not very easy! He knows his cows so well, I really admire, and share in his love for them. Thanks dad for teaching me all that you know about cows, and being patient with me!

I even helped my dad haul hay today. I pulled a trailer with about 4 ton of hay on it. I was a little nervous at first but it was pretty easy and I was proud of myself. Teague is enjoying the hundreds of 4-wheeler rides he gets a day, and totally loves seeing all the cows and baby calves!! He is one spoiled little man!

Red Fiery Volcanic "BLAZE"
This is Blaze "my" baby calf. His name is long, but I thought that it was kinda funny. My dad and little brother make fun of me, and make up their own name every time we go down there. He has a lot of spunk and loves it when I go down to feed him. He bellars like crazy when I leave. I keep getting told not to get attached, but I am such an animal lover that it is impossible. This little guy is getting really big and I can't get in the pen with him anymore cuz he knocks me around. I have to let him suck on my hand so he doesn't throw me around. This has been one of the best summers ever, we are having a blast out of the farm!! Guess you can say I'm a "Country Girl"!!!

Stars & Stripes

This year we watched fire works on the Rupert Square with my family. It was a blast!! The fire work show was really good. I was curious to see if Teague would get scared or if he would like them. Turns out he totally loved them. He ooooed and aweddd, and kept calling the fire works balls.

He looked so dang cute all dressed up to watch the fireworks!! Teague wanted Jerica to hold him so bad, but she was holding Saige. Being the good Auntie she is she picked him up and tried to hold them both.

Teague was waiting so patiently for the parade to start in his big boy chair. Ellie, Teague, and baby Saige all dressed up in their Red, White, and Blue. He enjoyed watching the parade this year, and was very content to sit on dad's lap under the umbrella.

Teague and Saige are already the best of buddies. He kinda is a little rough at times with her, but most of the time she doesn't mind. She even puts up with the spit he leaves all over her face when he kisses her. He hates when she cries and is always there with a love for her so she will stop crying. His favorite is putting her bottle and binky in her mouth, he will clap after wards like jeeze I'm amazing!! They looked so adorable in their 4th of July outfits.

After the parade we went to my Aunt Cynthia's house for lunch. It was a lot of fun to eat and hang out with family. There was a slip-n-slide there for the kids to play with, Teague found it and was soaked so fast! He loves to play in water, but just as long as he is in charge of the hose. He had a blast spraying everyone giggling all the while. Good thing Mom was prepared and brought him another outfit. ;)

Latter that night we watched the fire works on the Burley Golf Course. Teague had so much fun pulling the grass and throwing it on all of us. He was so wound up he really didn't watch the fire works unless there was a big boom. It was a late night but he was a trooper. We had a wonderful 4th of July and enjoyed celebrating our country's freedom. I'm so thankful for everyone who is keeping us safe, may they be watched over and protected while they are away from their families.
