I guess its been a long time coming.... I have been getting really sick after eating for years and years now. I have just never put things together, and it had never been this bad. Especially when I was pregnant with Riggins I had really bad pains on the right side of my upper abdomen. I just wrote it off, and figured it was him sitting so high up and his feet in my rib cage.
Well I suppose this last weekend it was my body's way of telling me it was time to pay attention. I was at my parents house when it first hit Saturday, I had excruciating pain in my back and the front of my abdomen. Accompanied with my not so favorite nausea and vomiting. My husband was in Featherville putting out bear bate, and it got so bad that I asked my dad for a blessing. He blessed me that I would immediately feel better but I would need to still take care of things. I did get immediate relief and slept like a baby. The next day I felt 100 %. And didn't think twice about things until Monday night when it hit again, although this time 10 times worse. I couldn't breathe, sit, stand, nothing to get comfortable. I normally talk my self out of going to the doctor. I don't know why, I just always do. In this case I am so glad that I didn't.
The doctor examined me and when pushing on my stomach, he found that it hurt when I about flew through the ceiling. He immediately ordered an ultrasound and we soon found out that I had some major gal stones and one was trying to pass on its own. The ultrasound techs words were" Its hot" it was so inflamed and infected it was crazy. I definitely needed my gallbladder out. The doctor called the surgeon and I was told to immediately go to the hospital because I was a ticking time bomb. Not so easy with two little kiddos. Kinda hard to hold back tears and not be scared. We have some great friends down here who took Teague. We took Riggins to the hospital with us so that I could nurse him for as long as possible. My mom and Ellie rushed up so that they could help.
We get to the hospital and find out that there were other emergency surgeries, and since I didn't appear to be in too much pain they pushed me back until the next morning. Good thing I have high pain tolerance!! ;) Which after thinking about it I was glad to have a refreshed surgeon in the morning, and not a groggy one doing it in the middle of the night. Surgery went well, I just had a really hard time waking up from the anesthesia. I now have 4 holes across my stomach, and 1 slice above my belly button. The doctor said that my gallbladder looked awful when he took it out. I'm glad that its out and I can start feeling better.
I am so grateful for the priesthood blessings my sweet husband and father gave me. It makes me grow that much closer to each of them. I am thankful to have them in my life and grateful that they honor their priesthood. I hope my body will recover fast. I don't handle just sitting and not being able to do things on my own. I am thankful for my wonderful mom who seems to always come to my rescue. I don't know what I would do without her!
So now hopefully I will be up to posting some updates and pictures of my sweet little boy. Plus I will have more time than I want sitting on the couch. See ya latter gallbladder I'm not going to miss you one little bit!!
